The testo 871s thermal imaging camera is a modern solution that combines professional technology with intuitive operation and user convenience. Thanks to the free testo Thermography App, the camera can be controlled via smartphone or tablet, while reports can be created and sent directly from the measurement site. The mobile device can also serve as an additional display. The camera has been designed for fast and effective detection of structural defects and ventilation issues, which are often the main causes of mold formation in buildings. Built-in features such as IFOV Warner, testo ɛ-Assist, and testo ScaleAssist ensure precise measurements and eliminate errors resulting from incorrect parameter settings.
Moisture detection and mold risk identification
When combined with the testo 605i thermohygrometer, the camera provides extremely accurate detection of moisture-prone areas long before visible mold appears. The camera measures surface temperature, while ambient humidity and temperature data are transmitted via Bluetooth from the hygrometer. Based on these readings, the camera calculates the relative surface humidity and displays potentially hazardous areas using a clear traffic-light system: green indicates no risk, yellow warns of possible mold growth, and red signals a serious risk of mold development.

The testo 871s delivers excellent image quality with 43,200 temperature measurement points and a detector resolution of 240 x 180 pixels, expandable to 480 x 360 pixels with SuperResolution. The camera can detect temperature differences as small as 0.08°C, automatically identifies Hot/Cold spots, and generates comparable thermal images using the ScaleAssist function, ensuring accurate interpretation. A built-in digital camera creates real images alongside thermal images, while saving data in JPEG format makes documentation and archiving simple and efficient.
